Helping Willow Care South to help others
When Katy Dann was looking for a new phone system for the care home agency business she was just starting up, Stuart from Pink Connect (Bournemouth) called round to her home based office to talk her through what was needed to get up and running.
Katy says, “I thought it was going to be a hassle but after half an hour it became clear it would be easy.
Stuart explained I could use my broadband connection for my business telephone and pay low rates for the calls as well. He brought a handset with and showed me exactly how it would work.
I needed to get the business up and running quickly and as the Feature Plus system is so easy to install I decided it was the right option for me. Within a few days the phone was working and I have been up and running ever since. I use the feature plus web site to manage the phone and can divert calls to my mobile when I am out of the office; it is perfect for my business.
I hadn’t heard of Pink Connect before but I am glad I have now; it is good to know there is someone local who provides such a personal service!”
Face like a Wet Wednesday? Not Stuart!
Stuart Moore, Director of Pink Connect, Bournemouth, nearly didn’t meet this new customer.
Stuart says, “It was a wet Wednesday evening. I had not had the best day and I was due at a networking event. When I arrived was “underwhelmed” by the prevailing atmosphere. I very nearly went straight home but after giving myself a good talking too, decided to stay and give it my best shot”
Half an hour later Stuart had a meeting arranged for the following week with a local business man who owns and operates a chain of 8 dry cleaners and laundry’s from an office in Bournemouth
Stuart continues, “I had in my mind to talk to the owner about his power requirements but during the meeting it quickly became apparent that his big issue was telecoms. The company had 3 different suppliers for lines, calls and broadband plus a rental charge for an old telephone system. I put together a quote for the Feature Plus Premium service, alongside line rental and broadband provision. The customer really liked the fact that by transferring his business to Pink Connect the savings made on lines, calls and broadband services will pay for the VOIP handsets within 10 months. The other major benefit he liked about the proposal was reducing the number of his suppliers from 3 to 1. The fact I am local and committed to excellent customer service also was a big plus. He signed to take the full package!”
So if you ever are tempted to take the easy option and not go to a networking event, you may miss out on opportunities like this one.
Editorial note: the expression “Thaz a face lik awet wensday” is thought have originated in Lancashire where Wednesday was traditionally wash day
Pink Connect Help Heritage Investments
Following up on a conversation at a recent networking event, Pink Connect (Bournemouth) is delighted to have helped independent financial advisors, Heritage Investments improve the quality of their calls.
Heritage Investments were experiencing problems with their VOIP (Voice over IP) telephone system. Upon visiting their office it quickly became apparent that they were running 5 phones and data traffic down one broadband connection. This was causing issues with call quality.
Further, upon analysing the monthly bill it was clear that by switching to Pink Connect a 20% saving could be achieved on lines, calls and broadband charges!
Pink Connect proposed a separate broadband line for the phone traffic and an upgrade to the handsets so they would be compatible with the Feature Plus platform.
Once the system was installed and the broadband connection had stabilised the quality of the calls improved. The team was also trained to access and use the feature plus web site, this means that the telephone system is now running in a way that suits each individual phone user and Heritage Investments’ customers
Intelligas Uses Pink Fax2Email Service saving money, work space and hassle
With the increasing popularity of email, the sending and receiving of faxes is a dwindling pass time. However in business, it is still a very necessary evil. There will always be some businesses requesting you send a fax or that they haven’t got a scanner to email something to you.
To add to this frustration you’re paying all that money for an additional phone line, the machine frequently jams, it runs out of ink, it eats paper, it takes up valuable office space and you usually have to print off a paper copy from your computer anyway which is just plain wasteful.
So whats the answer?
Intelligas, who supply gas safety and control systems have found the answer in Pink Connects Fax2Email service.
Like most companies Intelligas had a separate phone line attached to a clunky old fax machine that frequently jammed and ran out of ink. One call to Pink Connect and we had them up and running on Fax2Email. They were then able to cancel the BT line (that was costing £180 p/a), and ditch the fax machine all together.
This product has two parts…
1. Fax2Email will receive a fax to any geographic number, convert it to PDF format and then deliver to your inbox (Emails can be delivered to multiple emails addresses).
2. Email2Fax allows you to send faxes to: “FAXNUMBER@fax.pinkconnect.com” in any of 27 different electronic formats which will then be transmitted by fax to the recipient and a delivery report produced and sent back to the senders email address.
The service is available with nationwide geographic numbers and we are even able to port your exisitng fax numbers. (For Intelligas we found a new number a few digits away from their existing 0845 Phone number).
All this costs just £7.50 per month saving a fortune on line rental, paper, ink, time, space and hassle.
Here’s what Andrew Dickenson, Managing Director for Intelligas had to say about Pink Connect…..
“Excellent service thanks. Informed every step of the way and we’ve already used the service a few times and got rid of that horrible old machine!
Using pink connect for the first time was an easy and hassle free experience, i’ll certainly be revisiting their site to see what other services my business can benefit from in the future, I highly reccommend this professional supplier to enhance the media & communication needs of any business.”

Lovatt choose Pink for everything…
R.P.Lovatt Insurance have again chosen their long term Communication suppliers Pink Connect in a deal that includes all lines, calls, mobiles, phone systems, ADSL and IT infrastructure. With this deal, Marc Lovatt has fixed the cost of his partnership’s Communication and IT budget for the next five years. Marc said “Pink Connect have been our chosen suppliers for over eight years now. As we have grown they have expanded our systems ahead of demand ensuring we always have the tools for the job. I am delighted to have secured their comprehensive services at a fixed cost with this innovative agreement. I recommend Pink Connect to any company wanting the best solution for their business communications”.
PerCap Recruitment turns to Social Media to help them.
PerCap Recruitment is a company specialising in the IT and Finance sectors so its fair to say communication is at the very core of its business and its massively important they are getting what they need in this respect.
After experiencing problems with their phones and a poor broadband speed they first of all turned to BT for help only to find it was impossible to speak to anyone who would help them or even understand their problems and what a serious effect it was having on their business.
So they turned to Social Media….
A few “tweets” later and posts on the LinkedIn group asking who others recommend and Pink Connect’s existing customers had made it very clear to PerCap who they should be speaking to… and within 5 days they were under Pink Connect’s capable wing.
Amberley Worton, Director for the firm said the following…
“Customer Service was our major reason for looking else where and after being recommended Pink Connect by other businesses using LinkedIn we haven’t looked back. It’s great to know that if we have a problem, I can call my account manager – a real person with a direct landline and a mobile phone number, and I know they will resolve it for us.
Since moving our broadband to PinkConnect from BT, we have noticed a much faster, and much more consistent service. Broadband is key to our business and it used to be a source of huge frustration when our connection regularly dropped with BT. Our phone service is also now reliable, and we’re even saving money on both services now that we’ve made the switch.
At the time our service was transferred it showed up a fault on our line, which could have caused us huge problems by rendering our phone line and broad band out of service. Fortunately for us, Pink Connect called out an engineer immediately and the fault was resolved very quickly – something which I very much doubt would have been resolved so quickly had we still been with BT.”

BBC track record for Pink
“Pink Connect has been providing our phone lines and broadband connectivity for BBC Question Time since September 2007. The challenges that Pink Connect have faced in providing this service have been many. We are a programme that switches locations regularly with very little notice and Pink Connect have never failed to provide the service I require. All I have to do is let Pink Connect know the venue and everything else is done for me. I turn up on the day, plug in my router and my whole team are wireless within minutes. Pink Connect initially came along to a programme to see what was required of them, provided all the equipment and taught us how to set it up. If I have any problems they are at the end of a phone talking me through. All the staff at Pink Connect are professional and I would recommend them to anyone”. Daniele Lloyd, Head of Production, BBC Question time.
